Europe All Star XI v Africa All Star XI, 1997

The first and only incarnation of the UEFA-CAF Meridian Cup All-Star Match between current professional was played on 29th January 1997 in Benfica’s Estádio da Luz.

The match was intended to help the fight against racism in football, and finished 2-1 to the African select team.
